On December 26, 2017, the Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) and police forces have applied for the authority’s four plots of land on Jalan Sultan Yahya Petra (previously Jalan Semarak) to be placed under a registrar’s caveat. The caveat is meant to prevent fraud, misrepresentation, and misuse of the land entitlement in dealings. Felda is in danger of losing ownership of land worth up to RM270 million on Jalan Sultan Yahya Petra, as a result of a “dubious deal” which occurred in 2015. The land was meant for the Kuala Lumpur Vertical City (KLVC) development project, which comprises seven towers, including Felda’s KLVC Tower 1A.
